Your Room

Blog followers: It's been a long time since we've talked - please pardon the interruption. Since our last visit, we've prepared for and participated in a home study (success!), customized a room of the house into a nursery, and dreamed about what it will be like to have a child during the holidays. Read on!

We've been busy getting ready to have you in our lives! We've made a lot of changes to your room and we can't wait for you to see it.

When this first started, we knew that Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends were going to help us. Mommy wanted a neutral color (because we still don't know much about you) and we chose this one:

Little Marley making sure she agrees with the color.

We have a ceiling fan in our room and we wanted you to have one too. Nick, Shannon, and little Liam came over to help and to make sure that I didn't get electrocuted (which would have been bad - we'll have a talk about electricity and danger sometime in your life). Nick brought tools and steadied the ladder and helped me put it all together. Liam likes your room, and we learned how much fun it could be to run up and down the hallway. They promised to come and see you when you're all settled in.

Grandma and I spent two nights painting this room, and she had to walk 5 miles uphill through a driving snowstorm just to get to our house - more on that later. In the end we had fun because we knew we were doing it for you. Mommy and I touched up the white on the trim, cleaned the carpets, and waited for the furniture to arrive. Once your dresser, crib, and changing table were in your room we spent an afternoon setting up everything else. Mommy made your bed and put together your stroller and car seat. We were pleased to see that Pooh and Tigger had made themselves comfortable.

We will teach you what this is for and how to use it later.

Please get here fast! There is one thing missing from your room and that's YOU. Your Uncle Ryan and your Aunt Kristy want to meet you, and your Cousin Grace asks about you all the time. We know we're going to all have a lot of fun on this adventure.
